91 points - Pale straw yellow; on the nose lovely fruit, a little peach even. This is one to roll around in the mouth: dry; a little of those kerosene notes; lots of citrusy acids reminiscent of grapefruit, and a little bitterness at the end.

Very envious of my father-in-law scoring a dozen of this at NZ$11.99 a bottle through some mail order website—hope more flows my way!

Tasted on Sun, Sep 12, 2010.

A spicy nose abates over time, in the mouth though it's all on: lovely Pinot berry flavours, a sweet and creamy oak underpinning with some noticeable alcoholic heat. Very rounded and smooth, I'm finding it hard to take the time to describe it…

Tasted on Sun, May 23, 2010.

79 points - Yellow, with some kerosene notes in the nose. In the mouth apple juice and toffee. Short, with no acid or any lingering flavours. A bit disappointing, really. Sold to me by the winemaker as an aged but remarkably drinkable Riesling, so I've reviewed it on that basis, even though to my palate it's past it. What shall I do with the second bottle? At least it's in the now rare old-fashioned Central Otago tall bottle… http://www.flickr.com/photos/dubh/4260943551/

Tasted on Sun, Jan 10, 2010.
