96 points - Deep purple red. Deeply scented plum and spice with touches of tobacco leaf. Great poise in the mouth, with a powerful drive and intensity. Certainly ripe and compact, firm and structural, this will live long.

95 points - Dark medium red, some development showing at the edges. Savoury tobacco leaves on the nose. Densely woven palate with fine tannins. Spices reverberate, with minty high tones. Outstanding wine, but needs another 5 years or so.

94 points - Dark medium red. Highly inviting bouquet of plum with forest floor. Palate is chocolaty, fine tannins. Just about getting ready to drink. Give it another 5-10 years. Dark roasted tones at the edges. Herb notes in the background emerging. A steak wine.

92 points - Medium dark red purple. Pretty nose of dried flowers, quite plummy, chocolately, roast meat. Medium to full bodied, textural palate, slightly dusty, earthy, gives it away, the fact that this is merlot driven. Slightly high toned, frisky. Beautiful with the steak tonight.
