The Knoll estate is located in the village of Unterloiben in the wine-growing region Wachau. It has been run by the family for decades and today Emmerich II and Monika Knoll and their sons Emmerich III, who travelled far to acquire knowledge on his passion and august, who just finishend studies in agriculture are in charge of the 15 hectares of land where the famous grapes grow. Holdings of the estate can be found in top Wachau sites as Schuett, Loibenberg, Kellerberg, Kreutles and the kremstal vineyard Pfaffenberg. Over 45% of the vineyards are planted with each Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, the remaining 5% for Chardonnay, Gelber Muskateller, Rivaner, Gelber Traminer and Pinot Noir.
Nikolaihof is the oldest wine estate in Austria, whose history goes back almost 2000 years to Roman times.
The Saahs family operates in accordance with the regulations of the Demeter Association, one of the strictest control systems of organic agriculture.

The Wachau valley is one of the most beautiful historic landscapes in the world and has been included, since 2000, as part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
Here in between the Danube on the one side and the mountains on the other side is the of the village of Spitz,
five generations of Hirtzbergers have lived here, tending the vines which have been planted in the Wachau Valley the 13th Century. Today wine is produced with all the modern know-how at our disposal, but still following the tradition of the Wachau valley and our family.
We make wines from best grapes planted in exceptional sites. It requires both passion and respect to bring the pure results to bottle, but not any particularly complicated technology. With this maxim in mind, we hope, sometimes, to draw close to making great wines.
Elisabeth Pichler-Krutzler and Erich Krutzler, both viticulture-raised in their families – she in the Wachau and he in South-Burgenland. They so to say have been born into wine tradition.
