At Alpha Domus our philosophy is to produce premium wines from Hawke's Bay, fully representative of their terroir. Our aim is to bring all the qualities of our unique vineyard terroir through into the wine. To this end our winemaking philosophy is one of minimal intervention. Naturally well balanced these distinctive wines from Hawke's Bay display good varietal characters and are powerful without forsaking the qualities that make a wine enjoyable right through to the last drop. The emphasis is on fruit definition, mid-palate fullness, subtlety, complexity and elegance ensuring that the wines will age gracefully; a hallmark of Alpha Domus. No manual labour is spared in the production of premium quality grapes. This attention to detail in every growth stage means that bud, shoot thinning and positioning, bunch thinning and second set removal are just some of the passes made in the vineyard annually. Alpha Domus vineyard and winery are accredited members of Sustainable Wine Growing New Zealand, an environmentally conscious group dedicated to ensuring an industry standard for sustainable winegrowing.

The Bostock organic story was born out of a love for the land and the love an inspirational woman had for her boys.
The late Vicki Bostock loved the land and it was this certain piece of land in particular, which she fell in love with. Vicki’s Vineyard runs alongside the Bostock family home at Ngatarawa, positioned centrally within the Bridge Pa Triangle.
Vicki was committed to protecting the soils here for future generations. It was Vicki’s passion for this land and her desire for safe, natural food that provided the inspiration for this wine.
Johnny credits his late wife Vicki with igniting his passion for organics as she was so driven to ensure her family was eating safe, healthy food.
Vicki loved fine wine and food and enjoyed hosting family and friends. In her memory, the Bostock wine savours all that she loved about the land and the beautiful bounty it can produce.
A commitment to traditional winemaking techniques combined with ripe Hawke's Bay fruit results in wines that express complexity, texture and a sense of place.

Esk Valley has come a long way since Sir George Fistonich purchased the historic Glenvale Winery from the Bird Family in 1986. From a time when ports and sherries ruled the market, Esk Valley began forging a reputation for its innovative and quality wines. Under winemaker Gordon Russell Esk Valley broke boundaries introducing new grape varieties and new wine styles to Hawkes Bay.
From the original historic cellars in the north of Hawkes Bay to Esk Valley’s new purpose built winery within the confines of the renowned Gimblett Gravels, Esk Valley continues to produce a collection of wines regarded amongst New Zealand's finest. Utilising a very traditional and hands off approach including concrete fermenters for the finest parcels of red grapes, Esk Valley continues to build on its reputation.
Hawkes Ridge Wine Estate is a family owned, boutique vineyard, winery and olive grove located in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.
Our name and logo were chosen to symbolise the contour of our property and the hawks that soar along the ridge formed by the ancient Ngaruroro River.
The world of wine can be exclusive and elitist, however, as an urban winery we’re dedicated to changing that. We want to make wine fun, approachable, accessible, and transparent.
We look outside the wine world in terms of how we make and sell wine because it pushes the boundaries and pushes us forward. We are influenced by art, design, music and food and thrive on collaborating across disciplines.
We strive to work with organically grown fruit and process the fruit intuitively without added yeast, mechanical intervention (other than a pump), fining or filtration, and bottle with only minimal added sulfur.
We believe a low-intervention approach is the best way to express the purity and personality of the fruit we work with. When we do experiment, we’re led by the fruit itself and seek to express it in a new context rather than impose our own will.

Maimai is the wine label of Stirling Vines Limited of Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. Stirling Vines is a family run enterprise that began grape growing operations in 1994, supplying grapes to large wineries in New Zealand, primarily Sauvignon Blanc. In early 2002 we made the decision to market a portion of our own fruit under our own label, Maimai. Managed by Mal McLennan, Stirling Vines comprises two vineyards - Stirling vineyard located in Meeanee, and, the Sally's Field vineyard in Bridge Pa. Maimai produces a range of white and red wines from two vineyards in Hawke’s Bay, with Sauvignon Blanc being grown in the cooler area of Meeanee, and Chardonnay, Malbec, Merlot, and Syrah being grown in the hotter regions surrounding Hastings.
About Stiring VinesThe name Maimai derives from a small stream that used to run along side of the eastern boundary of our Meeanee property that we as children named “the creek.” In times of drought this creek was often a source of water for stock and water fowl. At some time in the early 1960's a maimai (hunting blind) was built and the creek became known as Maimai Creek.
Stirling Vines has expanded it's grape growing through a combination of planting on available land and through the acquisition of additional land for further planting.
Overstone produces fine wine from the major wine producing regions - Hawke's Bay and Marlborough. In Hawke's Bay the vineyard sites are on river gravel silts with slightly different climatic characteristics suited to different grape varieties and wine styles.
The warm, free draining vineyards around the winery are planted on the gravel deposits of an old river valley and provide the Merlot based red wines. Further inland, on a dry river gravel terrace 100 metres higher in altitude, the cooler vineyard site produces Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes.
We make small volumes of handmade wine, and that is the most satisfying thing for us at Radburnd Cellars – we make this wine which we enjoy sharing with other people. It can’t really get any better than that.
Our small and select family of wines - Chardonnay, Syrah and a Merlot Cabernet blend, are Kate’s personal favourites and represent the best of Hawke’s Bay.
Stonecroft is a small, family owned winery in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. Current owners Dermot McCollum and Andria Monin took over in 2010 and live on Stonecroft’s Roy’s Hill vineyard with their two children. Andria is a New Zealander and Dermot is originally from Ireland; Dermot is both the winemaker and viticulturalist. Stonecroft was the first winery to be established in the Gimblett Gravels Wine Growing District® and it has the oldest Syrah vines in New Zealand. Stonecroft is well known for its Syrah, Zinfandel, Gewürztraminer and Chardonnay wines. The focus at Stonecroft is obtaining great fruit from the vines, and then the wine making can then be non-interventionist with the emphasis on making wines which will cellar well. After taking over in 2010, the current owners converted the two original vineyards and winery to organic production and these are now fully certified organic with AsureQuality. A third, newly acquired vineyard is now in conversion. The total area planted is just over 10ha.
Nestled in the heart of the Gimblett Gravels wine growing region in Hawkes Bay, NZ is the home of our Winery, Vineyard, Restaurant and Cellar Door.
The full Maori name given to the site is Te Awa o Te Atua which means 'River of God', a reference to the mysterious subterranean streams over which the vineyards are situated and from which the wines draw their exquisite, yet subtle characteristics. The quality comes from the free draining soil which consistently produces high quality fruit. Walking the 50 hectare vineyard at Te Awa Winery you will see the vines planted in alluvial soils, typical of the area. Te Awa vineyard soils are the trails of the old Ngaruroro River which meandered through the region until a huge flood changed its course in 1867.
Farther along Gimblett Road the soil is all stone and shingle with little variation. At Te Awa however, the same stone and shingle profile is interspersed with small patches of sand and silt left behind by the swirling river, which provides for ideal grape growing.
The Te Awanga Estate story starts here. On the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand, Te Awanga is our home ground and where it all comes together. Nestled in a small seaside settlement, cooled by salty breezes, warmed gently by sunshine and clear skies, and protected by mountain ranges far to the west.
Wine reflects deeply where it comes from and how it’s been made. That’s what makes wine a unique window on the health, vitality and quality of the environment where our grapes are grown. We started our organic journey in 2013 and we’re now farming 100% Biogro Certified Organic. Te Awanga Estate is home to Trademark, Quarter Acre, Wildsong and One Off wines overseen by international award-winning winemaker Rod McDonald.
Established in 1896, Te Mata Estate remains family owned, producing internationally recognised wines exclusively from its Hawkes Bay vineyards. Over nearly thirty years, Te Mata Estate has produced a stunning array of red and white wines including famous labels such as Coleraine, Awatea cabernets/merlots, Bullnose syrah, Elston chardonnay, Cape Crest sauvignon blanc and Zara viognier. In 2009 Te Mata launched its Estate Vineyards wines, selected from their own vineyards to represent the finest expression of their Hawke’s Bay varietals.
After tasting the European way of life, Thornbury’s winemaker Simon Fell decided that a career in winemaking was the way to go. Returning to New Zealand he added to his Bachelor of Science degree by enrolling in a Wine Science Diploma at Tairawhiti Polytechnic in Gisborne. Desiring to gain valuable work experience, his career took him on a journey throughout the country and around the world, working vintages in regions such as Central Otago, Oregon, Bordeaux and Western Australia.
In 2000, Simon took up a position at Esk Valley Estate where he contracted winemaker Gordon Russell’s infectious enthusiasm for Hawkes Bay wine! However, the lure of Europe was again beckoning and Simon left for France before heading to Chile and then Napa, where he was the winemaker for a boutique winery specialising in classic reds.
Simon returned to New Zealand in 2003 to take up a position with Hawkes Bay’s Vidal Wines where he remained until 2006 when he took up the position of Thornbury’s winemaker. “The opportunity to produce varietal wines from each of New Zealand’s key winegrowing regions is extremely exciting,” says Simon. “This challenging approach to winemaking enables a winemaker to be innovative and work closely with the viticulture team to ensure the wines express their unique terroir.”
Our iconic New Zealand winery celebrates over 25 years of world-class winemaking in the famed Gimblett Gravels winegrowing district of Hawke’s Bay. The Trinity Hill story began as an homage to the wines of the Northern Rhone when cuttings of Syrah from Hermitage, and Viognier from Cote Rotie were gifted to our founding winemakers.
Our winemaking philosophy of “quality rather than quantity” is important, and controlled yields ensure the intensity of flavour and elegant styles for which Trinity Hill is renowned. It is said great wine is made in the vineyard, and our aim at Trinity Hill is to produce distinctive wines of elegance and power that reflect the character of each vineyard site. We have three vineyards in the unique grape growing Gimblett Gravels sub-region of Hawke’s Bay, and our icon wine, Homage, is recognised worldwide as one of the benchmark Syrahs produced.
