Adegas Castrobrey is a different winery that belongs to D.O. Rías Baixas. It is a familiar winery, nowadays ruled by the third generation. It was founded in 1983 and is situated in Camanzo (Vila de Cruces) 20 kms. From Santiago de Compostela, in the interior zone of Galicia.
The 12 ha of vineyards are situated in a "thermal valley", on the Ulla riverbanks. The sole is basically derived from granitic substrates with a smooth Atlantic climate. They are situated some 100 m. above the sea level, although located at the mountain area. It is the real "granitic vine-growing", where the climatic conditions for the albariño grape vines are excellent.
Perched on a natural terrace looking out on the river Miño, Bodegas Viña Nora is located in the municipality of As Neves, within the wine-growing region of Condado do Tea and on the frontier with Portugal. The building of the winery is surrounded by the typical vine formations of the Albariño varieties, which grow on the slopes that descend towards the river and face the midday sun.
At Castro Martin we own 11 hectares of vineyards, divided between 4 separate sites. The largest, known by us as El Pazo, is 5 hectares and situated in the very heart of Ribadumia. This walled vineyard is one of the larger sites of the Salnés Valley, and owing to its quartz and granite subsoils, supplies us with our very best and most typical albariño grapes.
Bodegas Martín Códax was founded in 1986 and was named after the most known Galician troubadour whose medieval poems, the oldest of Galician-Portuguese language, are preserved. In the poems, the troubadour sings to love and to the sea of our coastline. Since it’s founding, Bodegas Martín Códax has grown and developed; always supporting its people, its land and its culture. The culture is promoted in more than 40 countries over the world. A project that started with the dream and efforts of a group of winegrowers is now a reality and it is this reality which has let Bodegas Martín Códax become a symbol of Galician wines inside or outside of our borders/country.
