Established in 2013, Botanic Vineyards is a small Martinborough vineyard set up by viticulturist and winemaker Christopher Reid.
Chris has a double degree in viticulture and wine science. His vintage experience includes Martinborough, Hawke's Bay, Nelson, Oregon and Burgundy.
Chris' experience had led him to produce elegant, perfumed and site-expressive pinot noir from his small, family-owned vineyard on the Martinborough Terrace. All work on the vineyard is carried out by hand, with an emphasis on managing pests and diseases with vineyard produced fertilisers and biological sprays.
The vineyard currently produces one barrel of pinot noir per year. New plantings in 2013 and 2014 will eventually see the total production up to 4 barrels per year.
