Description:

Alexia represents family matriarchy - women who drove us forward and held us together through the big, beautiful, fragile messiness of life. Winemaker Jane Cooper first established Alexia in 2000, when living in Nelson and continued the brand following a move to Wairarapa in the mid-2000s. After taking several years away from the business to focus on raising their young family, Jane and wife Lesley relaunched Alexia in 2017 and opened their urban winery in Greytown in 2020, followed by a seasonal wine bar in late 2022. Wines made by Alexia include four expressions of Pinot Noir, as well as Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Grüner Veltliner, Gamay and Lagrein. Me?thode Traditionnelle Blanc de Blancs and Rosé are also made 100% in house using grapes from long-term growers, Julie Collins and Simon Dawson of Manuka Flats Vineyard, West Taratahi.
