Description:

[This winery is permanently closed.] We are a family-owned winery with 26 hectares of vineyards located in Brightwater, about 25 Km south of Nelson. Our two wine brands: Kaimira Estate (premium) and Brightside (popular) cater for all tastes and price points; our Kaimira Estate range also includes some unusual speciality wines such Semillon, Pinot Blanc and Syrah/Viognier. We are proud of our environmental credentials: as well as being fully certified organic we are carbon neutral - we measure and manage down our greenhouse gas emissions and purchase certified wind power credits to off-set those emissions we can't eliminate. We use one quarter of the water of an average winery by treating and re-using our winery waste water for irrigation. We were named Sustainable Business of the Year for the Central/Southern region in 2012 and Sustainable Vineyard of the Year in 2015 by the NZ Organic Wine Awards.
