Description:
Palliser Estate was founded in 1984 when we planted our first vines. Named after the dramatic Palliser Bay on the Wairarapa coast and its namesake Admiral Sir Hugh Palliser. Colleague and patron of Captain James Cook, Palliser was a brave visionary and distinguished leader. The name firmly connects us to our land, it honours our region and the pioneering spirit upon which New Zealand is founded. Our iconic crest reflects this. Inspired by the crest of Palliser’s Family, the Griffin - half Eagle, half Lion - is a symbol of boldness, intelligence and courage.
