Our current range of wines have been made under the careful tutelage of Chris Derrez and Lucy Maddox of Madrez Wines in Orange, New South Wales.
Chris who learnt his trade in the Burgundy region in France and Lucy, an oenologist trained at Roseworthy College, have been responsible for many award winning wines. They are now making wines that are of a classic traditional heritage but crafted in a crisp clean style to meet current trends and requirements from serious wine lovers.
Renzaglia is a vineyard and winery nestled in the rolling hills of the Wambuul Valley of NSW owned and operated by the Renzaglia Family. Wambuul is the Wiradjuri name for the Fish, Campbells and Macquarie rivers. These are the rivers that have shaped the granitic, rolling hills and valleys west of the Great Divide between the towns of Bathurst and Oberon where the Renzaglias grow wine. Mark and Sandy planted the original vines of the Bella Luna Vineyard in 1997 to Chardonnay, Cabernet and Merlot. Today, their oldest son, Sam has taken the reins, now managing four vineyards in total; Bella Luna (O'Connell), Winooka Park (Tarana), Mt Panorama Estate (Bathurst) and Casey's (Oberon) all located within the Wambuul Valley, between 700 and 1050m asl, producing both single vineyard wines as well as Village (titled Wambuul) and a regional teir made with purchased grapes titled Central Ranges. New plantings have taken place over the past 5 years to include Sangiovese, Grenache, Syrah and Tempranillo as well as further plantings in the works for Winooka Park where Sam lives with his partner Jo.
