Minimalist Winemaker, Charlie Svenson, often utilises ‘wild’ strains of yeast endemic in his vineyard, with no additions of tannin or use of enzymes to produce the De Salis range of wines. Charlie’s elegant wines reflect each unique vintage from his ‘Lofty Vineyard’ located at ^1050 m on the northern slopes of Mt Canobolas, in the Orange Wine Region. De Salis Winery is recognised for its Lofty Cuvee, Wild Fume Blanc, Chardonnay, Wild Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and blends of Cab Franc, Merlot and Cab Sauvignon. De Salis Wines is a family venture, with sons Mitchell, assistant winemaker and Ben, all rounder. Charlie’s partner, Loretta Svenson, runs cellar door and sales - open 7days 11am – 5pm.
