The Story Wines is a small, high quality winery unconventionally located the Melbourne suburb of Moorabbin, making wines from the Western Victoria's Grampians region, alongside other carefully selected cold climate vineyards. Established in 2004 among the ‘new wave’ of young, ‘hands-off’ Victorian winemakers, winemaker Rory Lane specialises in elegant and intriguing expressions of Rhône varieties, particularly its single-site and old vine Syrahs. The Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier blend is a stylistic benchmark, and more recent explorations of Grenache and Mourvedre are becoming equally important style drivers for the region. The hyper-convenient tasting room offers a unique and intimate tasting experience that is a must-visit for visitors and Melbourne locals alike.
