Wayne and Myriam Keoghan established Anvers Wines in 1998 with the philosophy of producing only premium wines from low-yielding vineyards. As the proprietor of Anvers, Wayne Keoghan stands firm in the belief that grape varieties should only be sourced from their specialty regions, the locations in which they thrive.
Welcome to BK Wines we are a small artisan wine producer expressing single site and soul. Established in 2007 by Brendon and Kirstyn Keys. Our main objective is to produce super natural low tech wines with amplification!
[This winery may no longer be operating.] By Jingo can be traced as far back to the 17th Century, meaning ‘by Jesus’. Grapes for By Jingo wines are from superior vineyard sites, sourced from the great regions of South Australia and include, Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and as far South as the Southern Fleurieu. We have taken great care to choose varieties and clones which compliment the environment. Varieties such as Montepulciano, Zinfandel, Nero d’Avola, Negroamaro and clones of Mendoza Chardonnay. Allowing Winemaker John Gilbert to express the exceptional qualities of each individual region and their terroir influence on the variety.
The picturesque Adelaide Hills township of Chain of Ponds was established as a friendly watering hole and resting place for weary travellers. While the township is but a fond memory, the stories live on through the wines, proudly produced since 1985. Chain of Ponds produces wines from the Adelaide Hills with focus on regionality, balance and expression of sites throughout the hills.
Charlotte Dalton Wines was started in 2015 by Charlotte Hardy. After 15 years globetrotting and working in wine around the world Charlotte settled in South Australia and now has a winery and cellar door on the coast in Port Elliot. Working with grapes from the Dean family in the Adelaide Hills and the Case and Willson families in Langhorne Creek Charlotte makes single varietal, classic varieties aswell as more experimental blends from mediterranean varieties.
A love of wine, food and growing things eventually led us away from a vastly different background involving scuba gear and seaweed. Our winery is situated in the Basket Range of the Adelaide Hills where we try to intervene as little as possible in the growing and making of our wines. We farm a number of small parcels in Basket Range, Forest Range and Ashton. We don’t like to define our styles or wine making techniques, we just make wine in the way we feel is right for the grapes and season and most importantly, with maximum drinkability and enjoyment in mind. We hope you enjoy.

The rolling hills of the Yarra Valley in Victoria produce some of the finest cool climate wines in Eastern Australia. Nestled amongst rolling hills and fields, the higher altitude environment at Hill Ridge produces distinctive and elegant wines.
Coles Liquor-owned brand.
Our wines are estate Grown from our family owned vineyard in the Adelaide Hills. Taking our name from pioneering horticulturist Amos William Howard who, in 1889, discovered subterranean clover growing naturally on the site where the Howard Vineyard Cellar Door stands today.
OUR MT BARKER VINEYARD (HOWARD VINEYARD) - 24Ha Established in 1998 the Howard Vineyard site is a warmer vineyard in a cooler climate. A slightly higher than average temperature and slightly lower rainfall in comparison to our Lobethal Vineyard. This with our central approach of sustainable viticulture (including intensive hand pruning, shoot thinning, bunch thinning, low yields and hand picking) we are able to achieve optimal ripeness for Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon as well as world class Rosé from these varieties.
OUR LOBETHAL VINEYARD (SCHOENTHAL VINEYARD) - 36Ha Established in 1998 we believe that we have one of the finest sites for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc across the Adelaide Hills. With a broad variation in traditional clones well suited to the Adelaide Hills, this allows us to experiment within our own vineyard in pursuit of our passionate project to produce great wines. Due to Lobethal's cool temperatures and high altitude we retain great natural acidity one of the hallmarks of our wines.
OUR WINEMAKING Head Winemaker Tom Northcott's winemaking approach is to pick at optimal ripeness for lean flavours to showcase the quality and true expression of our vineyards. Howard Vineyard Wines are light to medium body with vibrant flavours and great natural acidity.
[This winery is permanently closed.] In 1996 the Australian Centre for Family Business at Bond University identified J. & A.G. Johnston as the oldest known family business in South Australia, where its origins date back to 1839. The Johnstons established their malting and brewing enterprise in 1843. During the second half of the 19th Century they built or acquired a number of hotels in the Adelaide Hills area to provide a network of outlets for their ales and other beverages. Today, the brewing has ceased, but J. & A.G. Johnston continues to own a significant number of properties in the Hills area, including hotels. During the 1990s the company broadened its scope by establishing vineyards and marketing wine under the Johnston label.
Kakaba Wines is a small winery owned by Chris and Jill Milner producing wines from the cool climate Adelaide Hills and other premium South Australian regions. We are based just outside the historic township of Hahndorf, but source grapes from a number of vineyards right across the Adelaide Hills from Gumeracha and Lenswood in the north, to Kuitpo in the south, right on the border with McLaren Vale.
At a local South Australian pub, a coin was flipped and it landed on tails, meaning Mark Gilbert’s great, great, great grandfather, Joseph Gilbert, lost the bet and had to change his property name from ‘Karrawatta’ to ‘Pewsey Vale’. Joseph Gilbert made his first wine in 1847. Since then, the Gilbert family has continued to produce wine grapes and we are excited to reignite the Karrawatta name with single vineyard, small batch wines.
The Karrawatta of today has evolved from a passion and desire to make our own wines from the three vineyards that we own and manage in the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek. Our primary focus lies within the vineyard with minimal intervention in the winery. This approach allows our wines to reflect their sense of place, growing the best varieties suited to each region, low cropping levels, sensitive farming and conversion of our vineyards to organically farmed.
La Bise is a warm southerly wind that blows across the French region of Burgundy in the weeks leading up to harvest. It blows away the cooler, more humid air and so gives the vineyards “the kiss of life”.
The Best vintages of Burgundy are often attributed to the influence of a strong La Bise. Wines under the La Bise label come from vineyards that I believe have benefited from the magical “kiss of life”.
LaBise Wines are created by South Australian Winemaker Natasha Mooney.
La Linea hatched in Peter Leske’s head in late 2006, soon after leaving Nepenthe. He had been Winemaker at the super-premium Adelaide Hills company since its foundation just over a decade earlier. Contemplating his next step, he found the aroma and taste of a dry, fine rosé made from Tempranillo grapes turning over and over in his mind. Imagining aromas and flavours that don’t exist can be frustrating – but it’s the winemaking equivalent of a melody forming in a songwriter’s brain; a melody which won’t go away until it’s played.
Lambrook began in 2008 with two small parcels of fruit (Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc) and a half-crazy idea of making it into our own label wine. It was something we’d always wanted to do—we dreamed of people ordering our wines in restaurants. So, when we were offered these parcels of spectacular quality fruit, we thought… let’s just go for it!
We were both working in the industry and knew our way around a bottle of wine. We were very excited and wanted to be involved in every part of the process—it had to be our wine. And we also wanted everything to be done in the Adelaide Hills—it was what we knew and felt passionate about.
Still, knowing and doing are two different things. Fortunately, we’d built fantastic relationships with a lot of knowledgeable Adelaide Hills’ experts who were very enthusiastic on our behalf.
So we set about turning the fruit into wine and we were hands on, from the winemaking to bottling to the labelling (which we did ourselves in our kitchen). It was fun and stressful and hilarious and annoying and brilliant, and in the end we had 700 bottles of beautiful Lambrook Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc (which lived on a pallet in our spare bedroom for a while).
We’d gone into the process wanting to make quality wines that over-delivered on price. So the next task was to see if people thought it was worth buying. We started with family and friends (of course) who pretty much loved it and began ordering it, which was exciting.
Word spread and we began taking more orders. We also approached a number of boutique retailers and saw heaps of restauranteurs. It was just us; meeting people, taking orders, answering emails, delivering—everything to do with Lambrook, we did (and still do).
So, over the course of the next few years, we sourced more grapes, added varieties (from personally chosen parcels across the Adelaide Hills) and made more quality wine. The half-crazy idea of Lambrook became full-time lifestyle/career for both of us in 2015.
Longview is a stunning family owned Australian vineyard located just outside the historic township of Macclesfield in the Adelaide Hills. Set on undulating slopes reminiscent of old-world estates but unmistakably Australian, it has quickly established itself as one of the most awarded vineyards since first planted in 1995. Longview is located on the South Eastern Ridge of the Mt Lofty Ranges and at our highest point (410m above sea level), a “long view” stretches out toward the Southern Ocean and Lake Alexandrina. During the summer, warm days are followed by cool winds shifting from the southern waters off Lake Alexandrina and the coast. Consequently, these conditions result in a very high diurnal range which is quite site-specific and provides a remarkable breadth of flavour profiles in the grape berry. Longview pushes the boundaries with emerging varietals such as Nebbiolo, Barbera and Gruner Veltliner, in fact, Longview has the oldest Nebbiolo plantings in South Australia. With gorgeous 4.5 star accommodation, breathtaking views from almost any vantage point, state of the art cellar door/kitchen and sought after function centre. Longview is more than a premium wine producer; it is one of the most impressive tourism destinations in Australia.

We produce highly acclaimed Australian wines from Italian vines in our Uraidla vineyard in the Piccadilly Valley in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia which we established in 1998.
Established by Brian Croser in 1976, Petaluma is one of Australia's most prominent wine companies. The pre-eminent quality of Petaluma's wines is based on distinguished vineyard sites for each of the chosen varieties, in four important South Australian wine regions: Piccadilly Valley in the Adelaide Hills, for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay; Mount Barker in the Adelaide Hills, for the Rhone varieties Viognier and Shiraz; Clare Valley, for Riesling' and Coonawarra, for Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot
[This winery may no longer be operating.] Here at Piccadilly Hills we pride ourselves on living up to the tradition of some of the finest Whites and Red blends coming from our grape Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties.
The Pike & Joyce brand represents the coming together of two long established South Australian families to form a partnership in wine.
The Pike family, long established in winemaking and viticulture and the Joyce family, 'fifth generation' horticulturists, have come together to develop this 25ha joint venture vineyard at Lenswood in the Adelaide Hills wine region of South Australia.
The vineyard site, which was previously apple and pear orchards, is characterized by steep North and East facing slopes and possesses fantastic gravelly clay and loam soils which are ideally suited to the classic cool climate varieties that have been planted – Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The vineyard is all hand pruned and handpicked with the fruit being chilled overnight in the Joyce cool rooms, before being transported to Pike’s Clare Valley winery for vinification.
Traditional old world techniques as well as modern Australian winemaking are incorporated to produce a style which reflects the variety and region.
Head Winemaker, Stephen Pannell and Fiona acquired Protero - Rose and Frank Baldasso’s Gumeracha vineyard - in late December 2019, little knowing of the fury of the season that was to follow. ''We remain in quiet admiration of those who defended it so bravely, and who are responsible for its continued existence''– Stephen and Fiona Pannell.
We were initially attracted by the five clones of Nebbiolo planted in 1999, which we had been working with in 2005. The balance was Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Viognier, which were of little consequence to us. We have since replanted to Gewürztraminer; Pinot Gris; and Riesling, with plans of Barbera, Dolcetto and a lot more Nebbiolo to follow. These are varieties which we love to drink and, we feel, have a better affinity to region and site.
We are moved by the bravery behind the history of this vineyard. Our own small act of courage is to try and invest this special place with a new sense of potential. Ultimately, it will be ‘Protero’ that decides which varieties it most faithfully expresses.’
[This winery may no longer be operating.] The Romney Park vineyard is located on a ridge of ironstone between Balhannah and Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia.
We pride ourselves on being clean and sustainable. There are only seven acres of vines at Romney Park and these are hand-pruned and hand-picked. The vines are dry-grown and guinea fowl are used to keep pests at bay. Our focus is to grow the best quality fruit then preserve the pristine flavours throughout the winemaking process.

Dreaming + teaming in Adelaide Hills, South Australia.
We love making things. Some useful things, some nice things, mostly tasty things. It gets nice when we can ferment them things.
The Other Right is our little family's wine enterprise.
The Pawn Wine Co. had its beginning in 2002 out of necessity when vignerons and winemakers Tom Keelan and his wife Rebecca Willson had a small parcel of fruit deemed ‘not good enough’ by a particular nameless, soulless wine monolith. They had now become mere Pawns in the global wine game, doomed to be played and moved around, and ultimately sacrificed.
So the 2 rolled up their sleeves and decided to show the corporate colossal what can be made from the right varieties grown in the right location. They set out to make small hand selected parcels of wine from alternative varieties grown in the Adelaide Hills and Langhorne Creek. They had seen that alternative grape varieties were being used as blending tools by the bigger corporate wine companies and that the potential of “old world” wine styles was not being allowed to shine.
Like Pawns, these varieties were ignored or sacrificed by the dominating wine corporates and not being used as standalone artisinal Adelaide Hills and Langhorne Creek wines of provenance.
This first vintage of The Pawn received so many accolades, that it only seemed fair to start the crusade and take on the global wine giants, stand up for the little guy and rebel against the corporate players of the wine industry.
Tom and Rebecca have set out to identify other idyllic viticultural sites and hand selected parcels of fruit within the Adelaide Hills and Langhorne Creek to produce wines that are not only a bit unconventional, but enjoyable to drink, incredibly food friendly, and made in a style that reflects their true origins – the ultimate in hand crafted Artisinal wine.
Some of Australia’s finest cool climate wine is produced from the Adelaide Hills, a mere 35 minute drive east of Adelaide, South Australia. That is why John and Vicki Tomich together with their three sons Randal, Damian and Sam selected this stunning region for the establishment of their vineyard. Nestled along the Onkaparinga River, the vineyard is just north of the township of Woodside in the “Hills”– a region well known for producing fruit with elegant, vibrant and fresh varietal flavours.
The family has a farming history spanning three generations. Today, their philosophy is that of ‘giving more back to the land than you take’.
Raised on a vineyard in Coomealla, NSW, John learnt to grow premium grapes from his father Ivan, whose ancestry came from vineyards on the Dalmatian Adriatic Coast. John’s eldest sons Randal and Damian were in turn passed the knowledge and skills from their father and grandfathers and were raised with their hands firmly in the soil.
During the time Randal was developing the vineyard, using his newly invented and acclaimed soil amelioration equipment and technology – the “Vibrosoiler”, John completed a post graduate diploma in winemaking at the University of Adelaide and is currently undertaking the challenging studies to become a Master of Wine.
In an Adelaide Hills farmshed, two blokes Marty & Spence are having a ball, hand making boutique vino from the blood of the vine for the good of the people.
At Verdun Park Wines, we love wine but especially love sharing wine with friends, family and customers.
