At Cable Bay Vineyards, our vision is to hand-craft wines from the highest quality fruit grown in small lot, premium sites. Our Waiheke Island vineyards were planted in 1998, on steep hillside slopes overlooking the Hauraki Gulf. Our Awatere Valley vineyards are high density plantings established in 1996 - the oldest Sauvignon Blanc vines in the Awatere - located on the stony banks of the Awatere River. Today we grow 9 varietals across the two regions, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah. We manage our land using sustainable winegrowing practices and additionally, we are currently in conversion to organics in both regions. We are passionate about creating elegant, expressive wines, bursting with a sense of place.
Destiny Bay is a small family owned and operated specialist producer of critically acclaimed estate bottled Cabernet Blend wines. (Formerly known as Goldwater Estate) Goldie is the name of our boutique vineyard nestled in the beautiful setting of Waiheke Island. Here we create character wines that draw on the knowledge and experience of Kim and Jeanette Goldwater who founded winegrowing on Waiheke Island and produced iconic wines from this vineyard. We continue their philosophy of nurturing and improving our established vineyards.
Kennedy Point Vineyard was established in 1996. We make expressive, unadulterated wine from steep coastal vineyards. We are organic winegrowers, certified by Biogro. Syrah is our focus but we also make a range of Bordeaux styled wines in the Island tradition.
The Man O’ War story begins with a special piece of land which has a rich history. Located at the Eastern End of Waiheke Island, Man O’ War is a stunning array of coastal hillsides with high cliffs and pristine beaches forming a ruggedly beautiful coastline.
Mawhitipana Ridge Estate is a single-site vineyard located on Waiheke Island in a sunny coastal valley, producing limited quantities of high quality wine.
Hand produced from a concentration of vines, our wine evokes the experience of escape in a relatively hidden piece of countryside with a glance of the sea, as the name ‘Ma whiti’ (‘escape’ or ‘glance’) suggests. Our native forest planting remains true to the ‘pana’ or Manuka tree berry that once blanketed the land and also remains true to our purpose. We are two families with a shared passion for creating something special, with ‘awata’ or soul. Together, we are deeply committed to kaitiakitanga - protecting and enhancing the land or life force for our children, future generations and the local community.
Our wine naturally expresses the character of our site, from the heavy clay soil to the coastal elements, sunny slopes and low-intervention, sustainable growing and cultivating techniques.

Poderi Crisci vineyard encompasses 7.7 hectares on a north facing slope set amongst a sheltered amphitheatre and a narrow rocky strip believed to be 30 million set years older than the rest of the Island.
Located at the end of a country lane, Poderi Crisci is a family-owned vineyard and restaurant with Italian flair and a passion for traditional winemaking. For four generations the Crisci family have been immersed in the art of food and wine.
The first merlot vines were planted in 2000. The success of the first vines led to the planting of other grape varieties and vegetable gardens with Poderi Crisci being founded in 2008 and the restaurant opening in 2010. Antonio, a visionary, has transformed the Waiheke Island vineyard into a place people will visit to wine, dine and have ‘layers of experience.’
Just arriving at Poderi Crisci you may well think that you have been transported to Tuscany.
The Te Motu Vineyard story began in 1988 when the Dunleavy family procured
30 acres of prime “vineyard valley” and nourished it into a haven of
premier wine.
As one of the pioneers of the Waiheke wine movement, the family’s vision
was clear from the outset: To master wines of the ‘Bordeaux’ style,
comprised predominantly from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
In 1997 we came to Waiheke and saw a piece of land that we thought would be ideal for growing a Merlot/Cabernet Franc of some stature - a wine we loved in its french incarnation of St Emilion.
Merlot is supposed to love clay if the french are to be believed and that is certainly the case here.
Nearly 10 years later the money had been saved, the house and winery were being built and the time for planting was upon us. That was 2006.
We had help knocking in the poles but the rest has been done by us. 150 stays on 75 rows and over 32km of wire! Nearly 3000 planting holes (Ok - contractors helped us with some).
Then follows the nervous wait, will the grapes be up to scratch? Have we chosen the right clones? Should we have gone with Syrah as our winemaker suggested?
We think the choices have turned out pretty well!
