Established in 1951 with history dating back to the late 1800’s, Wynns Coonawarra Estate is the region's pre-eminent wine producer, and largest single vineyard holder, with the best and longest established vineyard sites in Coonawarra. The Estate was founded in 1891 by John Riddoch who planted vineyards and in 1896 completed Wynns famous triple gabled winery, now featured on Wynns iconic labels. David Wynn purchased the winery and vineyards in 1951 renaming it Wynns Coonawarra Estate. In 1954 Wynns Coonawarra Estate created its first Cabernet with Wynns Black Label Cabernet – the first commercially labelled cabernet sauvignon in Australia. Wynns Black Label Coonawarra Cabernet is one of Australia's most collected and cellared Cabernets and in 2017 celebrated the release of Black Label Cabernet 2015 – the 60th vintage of this historic label.
